Here’s Some Much-Needed Autumn Escapism via @annasarlvit

So, you could start cosying up and wallow over the fact that summer is slowly coming to a screeching halt — OR you could hit the gas and make every sun-soaked second count. We suggest the latter, obviously, and especially because we’ve managed to recruit our fave Insta travel muse @annasarlvit to conduct us through her dreamy autumn escape inspo. On her Instagram, the Danish content creator consistently offers us just the right amount of (healthy!) FOMO, here she makes sure we def don’t miss out: In our interview, Anna gives us inspiring advice on where to go for a last (mental) getaway before fall hits as well as what to do and wear once we get there. Or, you know, stay wherever we are.

Hi Anna! We’re so inspired by your sense of adventure. Can you tell us a bit about what you do in work and life that leads to such a picturesque existence?

I work full time as a digital content creator and I’ve done so for the last 1,5 year now. This job means that I get to travel a lot during a year and I am blessed to visit some extremely beautiful places with brands, for fashion week or just for myself with family or friends. I think it might automatically appear like my whole existence is picturesque because I not only care a lot about the aesthetics of a hotel or a beach whenever I travel, but I also really do my best to show these places from their best side so that my followers will be amazed and hopefully would want to visit this place themselves. But it’s extremely important for me to say that (of course) all aspects of my life aren’t perfect and beautiful at all — I have lots of grey and rainy days in sweats at home that aren’t so picturesque, I just don’t feel like showing that part too much.

We can’t believe summer is almost over! Do you have any last-minute escapes planned (or still in dreaming) before you hibernate for winter?

I absolutely do! My sister and I are escaping the grey, rainy and cold Danish weather that is just upon us and are traveling to The Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy in mid September. We’re going to soak up the late summer sun, swim in the ocean and have pasta for dinner every day. And it’s my first time in Amalfi so I can’t wait!

We need some inspo for getting away without really going anywhere. What type of adventure could we have if we have nature nearby? And any hot tips on what to wear and bring with us?

I really love to go on long hikes on a foggy but beautiful Sunday morning when fall starts to show. Bring a reusable water bottle from Ayaida in the prettiest dusty mint color and wear the ‘Recycled Rubber Country Boots’ from Ganni and a lightweight windproof parka from H&M Conscious.

And what if we’re surrounded by city — any suggestions for making it feel like a break?

I love to start the day with having brunch on my favorite spot in the city, whenever I feel like having a small break from everyday life. It’s such a calm and luxurious way to get your day started and since breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, I like to care about it. After brunch I’d definitely find the closest flea market or antique shops and explore every inch. And without doubt I’d end my city stroll day with a hot chocolate and a cinnamon bun because that just makes my stomach happy. To look super chic while strolling around I’d wear my vintage vegan leather jacket.

And if our greatest escape is a home spa day? Any tips on sustainable beauty and wellness, skincare and haircare — and stuff to set the scene?

If I were to do a full home spa day, I’d definitely start it out with a nice and long bath and shave my legs with a reusable safety razor by Mühle. After drying up I would wrap myself in a sustainable and ecological bath robe from Aiayu and do a moisturising facial mask from Tromborg to smoothen my dry skin.

And, finally, for a bit of feel-good digital escapism — can you recommend any inspiring Instas that we could tune into when we need a boost?

Whenever I’m in need of some digital escapism I find myself dreaming away while looking at inspo Instas and I think my favourite account must be @somewhereiwouldliketolive. The movie ‘Call Me By Your Name’ that takes place in Italy also mentally makes me escape to warmer and sunnier days in Southern Europe.
