We’d love to talk to you about makeup and beauty, so it feels natural to ask first: What does beauty mean to you?

Most importantly beauty to me means feeling good on the inside, which shows automatically on the outside. But if I have an off-day and don’t feel like doing anything (we all have these days once in a while right?) I could wear my joggers all day with no makeup on, or I could put on that lipstick, coat my lashes with mascara and brush my hair — 100% sure the second scenario will make me feel better.

Are there any brands you’re interested in at the moment who are exploring sustainability?

I like the hair products from Love Beauty And Planet, they smell delicious and you can buy it from your local drugstore.

Can you tell us a bit about the colour palettes you’re excited to wear for winter? What are you doing for eyes, and what are you doing for lips?

I am a warm toned kind of girl, so I mostly stick to that. But I am very excited for the glitter/foil, preferably in gold eyes, very Studio54 trend. I’m a huge fan of the series ‘Euphoria’, the makeup inspiration is insane. The rhinestones, glitter — but in a cool way, not too perfect — this is what we saw on the fall/winter runway as well. Also lashes, lots of eyeliner and lashes! Think Edie Sedgwick and Twiggy, but more modern than the originals. For lips, I love a good statement red, a deep burgundy and nudes. I think I’m going to wear more glossy lips than previous seasons, where it was all about matte.

While our skin changes a little bit in winter, is there anything you do differently in your application? Any tips or tricks?

My skin gets dehydrated in winter so I like to use a fuller cream than what I use in summer. I love the Crème de la Mer cream from La Mer. I’ve been starting to use the Hyaluronic acid serum from Good Molecules for extra hydration. I just discovered this Korean brand, vegan and super affordable.

How does wearing makeup and doing a nice skincare routine (or not doing either!) affect your mood?

I never skip skincare. I don’t care how much time I’ve got but for me skincare is the same as brushing my teeth — just as important. I love the ritual of putting skincare and make up on in the morning. It’s some relaxing me-time before my work day starts.

Is your relationship with makeup related to feeling beautiful, or is it more complicated than that? How did you get into it?

I definitely feel more beautiful with makeup on, but I do accept how I look without it — and don’t mind going outside with a bare face. For me, makeup is also a way of expressing myself.

Can you tell us a bit about you and what makes you happy?

I love everything fashion/beauty related so, besides working at MAC, I create content on Instagram. This makes me really happy! I love to create things, whether it’s makeup looks, taking photos, editing, or curating my feed. I also love to read. Speaking of beauty — inner beauty — I am currently reading ‘Think Like a Monk’ by Jay Shetty. Also, taking a few minutes a day to meditate and be in the present moment is what makes me a happier person.

Finally, any words of wisdom for someone who just can’t manage to get their eyeline symmetrical?

My biggest tip is, keep your eyes open, look down or tilt your head back. Start by following the lower lash line up, go as far out as you want but instead of finishing this eye do the same on the other eye. Always make sure the line is thinner in the inner corner than the outer corner. Connect the wing to the line on the mobile lid and voila! The most important thing is to go back and forth between your left and right eye, it’s so much easier this way. And remember practice makes perfect. And if it’s not perfect, correct with a Q-tip with a little bit of eye cream on it.
