Vacay is a State of Mind, Which Starts With This Recycled Swim Sale

If there’s one thing we don’t hate about the tail end of summer, it’s that all of our favourite swimwear brands go on sale. And by favourite brands, we mean the ones that make styles that feel fresh year after year, and that also go the extra mile to keep our swimming spots clean by utilising discarded plastics in all of their textiles. Oh, and the other thing we don’t mind at this time of year? The beautiful realisation that being on holiday is a state of mind — all you need is a cute swimsuit, a whiff of sunscreen, and maybe a late night alfresco dinner plan for which you may or may not still be wearing said cute swimsuit. TL;DR: The best sustainable swimwear brands are on sale rn, and these are our picks.

Weekday

Thanks to a generous colour palette, easy-to-wear styles and the continued use of cool materials like recycled polyamide and polyester (made from discarded plastic bottles, production waste and abandoned fish nets), Weekday is our long-standing swimwear BFF. How could we love them more? A sale at the exact time we are living our best vacay lives.

Madewell

Last year, Madewell launched the swimwear collection of our dreams — featuring easy prints that are super wearable for many summers to come, very solid solids, and cuts that range from beautifully minimal to refreshing fits that’ll have your friends requesting a brand ID instantly — all made from textiles that use recycled plastics. Since then, it has been a go-to whenever we’re in need of a swimwear update. And there’s no better time to update than sale time.

Peony

Gentle swimwear brand Peony goes hard on the sustainable commitment. Every single piece is made from recycled and sustainable fabrics — including the printed fabrics, custom textures and even the inner linings. For the prints, the brand uses Repreve, which is the material made from discarded plastics. For the really special custom textures — like the glittery fabrics and so sweet embossed spots — Peony uses Econyl, which is the material made from regenerated nylon (like fishing nets). What could be nicer about this brand? A sale ofc.

Monki

If you’ve been obsessing over a very particular swimsuit with super fun details — romantic bardot sleeve, cool crinkled fabric, elegant long sleeve — chances are it’s made by Monki. They’re always ready to embrace a brave trend. Plus, the brand has a whole section on their website dedicated to using better materials, which in the case of swim means recycled nylons. We love them! And right now, there are a couple of cute numbers on sale.

Ganni

An insta favourite and absolute inspiration when it comes to the journey towards a sustainable, circular fashion industry, Ganni not only makes the drool-worthy picnic gowns and relentlessly Scandinavian treasures you see on your feed — the label has also mastered swim. Using 100% certified recycled polyester, Ganni creates pieces that put swimwear firmly into actual fashion territory. Because of the now iconic designs and super detailed styles, you’d normally need to be in a very spendy mood to splash out on the label. But at sale time… different story all together.
